- What is Cerazette
What is Cerazette (desogestrel)?
Cerazette is an oral contraceptive pill that contains a small amount of the progestogen desogestrel. A progestogen is a synthetic type of female sex hormone that helps control your normal menstrual cycle.
As Cerazette only contains progestogen and no estrogen, Cerazette is called a progestogen-only pill (POP).
Cerazette requires a prescription from a healthcare professional and must be taken at about the same time every day in order to prevent pregnancy.
Adverse events should be reported. Reporting forms and information can be found at www.yellowcard.gov.uk.
Adverse events should also be reported to MSD Drug Safety Department on 01707 363773
