Cerazette home page

How effective is Cerazette (desogestrel)?

When taken correctly, Cerazette prevents pregnancy more than 99% of the time. This means that in any given year, less than one in every 100 women will get pregnant while taking Cerazette.

The efficacy of Cerazette can be affected by other medicines, such as the herbal remedy St. John's Wort. Please let your doctor or family planning trained nurse know if you are taking other medicines.

If you suffer from sickness and/or diarrhoea within 3 to 4 hours after taking your Cerazette tablet, the active ingredient may not have been completely absorbed. If so, please follow the advice for missed pills.
