Cerazette and estrogen-related side effects

The effects of Cerazette on estrogen-related side effects were examined in a prospective, non-comparative, multicentre, observational study:5

  • The majority (94%) of the 403 women studied had previously used hormonal contraception, which in most cases was a COC.
  • After taking Cerazette, 73–92% of hormone- or cyclical-related side effects either improved or completely disappeared.
  • Importantly, 85% of women said that they would continue to take Cerazette after the study ended.
  • These side effects have also been reported in progestogen-containing pills.
