Yes. The Patient Information Leaflet in each pack of Cerazette tells you how to switch from other pills. You can also ask your doctor or family planning trained nurse to explain this to you.

Yes. Women who are breastfeeding can use Cerazette. Please check with your doctor or family planning trained nurse to see if it is okay for you.

Yes. If you start using Cerazette immediately after the miscarriage then you should be protected against pregnancy. Please talk to your doctor or family planning trained nurse for further advice.

No. Once you stop taking Cerazette your fertility should return to a level that is normal for you and your age.

Some women taking Cerazette experience weight gain. If you have any concerns, please talk to your doctor or family planning trained nurse.

If you have an upset stomach or vomit within 3–4 hours of the time you usually take your pill, Cerazette may not work. Follow the advice for missed tablets in the Patient Information Leaflet and summarized on the What if you forget Cerazette? page of this website.

Yes. Some medicines used to treat epilepsy, tuberculosis, HIV and fungal infections can stop Cerazette from working properly. Medical charcoal used to treat stomach upsets and the herbal remedy St John’s Wort can also affect Cerazette's effectiveness. Please read the Patient Information Leaflet and always let the healthcare professional who prescribed Cerazette know what other medicines you are using.
